I often think of Rall as being a LOT like the blue shirt guy.

The guy in the red shirt must feel like Sisyphus. You travel a lonely road in the USA when you’re logical and calm about your beliefs.

How did vaccines get so political. I took the sugar cube because my parents said it was good for me, and my doctor said it was good for me. They said I was far less likely to get polio and get crippled by it or even die. They were right.

Funny how educated people believe facts far more than the uneducated.

Ted, please rail on something that makes sense. Or just be quiet.

They’ve had their sources to look at. There are thousands of sites out there detailing vaccines (red-shirt). It’s their choice if they want to cherry-pick. When they continue to ignore anything credible, then the ridicule comes from blue shirt.

My philosophy – I got the vaccine and I’ll live for as long as the Great Maker allows me!! Those that do not get the vaccine and die, more “toys” for me!! Ain’t I a stinker!??

I’m really, really eager to hear about all the anti-vaxxers who have changed their minds and gotten the shots because of Ted’s persuasive techniques.

I sincerely hope he will share those techniques and a few examples of his successes.

There’s always a caveat for every sane truth. And there’s always an unsubtle idiot to exploit it.

I leave comments with facts about Covid and Vaccines and I get comments back telling me how much I hate them for trying to keep them alive by telling them to get the shots and wear a mask. Reasoning with a wall would get better results. So they die, tough! I feel real bad for the kids they leave behind though, that is if the kid doesn’t die too.

As Bill Maher says, don’t waste time arguing politics.

As seen above, people who can’t logically debate seem to always respond with name calling.

We are a long way from the time that our “representatives” worked for the best interests of ALL the people they were elected* to represent by using unbiased logic and verified, up-to-date, information and techniques.

The truer vignette would be the anti-vaxxer insulting mediator, and he, then waiting for the anti-vaxxer to die.

Here in Ontario we’re getting close to 80% with two doses, and above 85% with at least one. The (Conservative) government (not my favourite, but give credit where it’s due) has done a good job encouraging people to get vaccinated. All the parties have been working pretty well together. There is now a campaign to take vaccine clinics to neighborhoods which need them most. There has been a recognition that some people distrust the vaccines, and the government has not vilified them. The numbers, by the way, are persuasive: the vaccines are not perfect, but they do a good job against serious illness and death. Serious illness can be measured by hospital admissions, and death can be measured by death. The overwhelming numbers of those with serious illness come from the now small group who are not fully vaccinated.

The few anti-vaxxers that I know will not listen to me because I am an MD. “Biased” they say. Yah, I am biased. I don’t want people to die if they can do something to protect themselves. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said pretty much what the red shirt guy in panel 3 says and how many times people are unwilling to listen because I did not say the magic words like Ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine or Clorox suppository. I have refused to attend their funerals. If they want to be ignorant, then, in the words of James T Kirk, “Let them die.”

Sadly, not much works. You can tell them you love them and don’t want to see them die. You can point out how guilty they’ll feel if someone they know catches it from them. Some people are so dug in all you can do is hope for the best.

Just how patient are we supposed to be with people who are actively trying to kill us all by defying public health measures?

Interesting how the take-the-vaccine-or-DIE folks are so often the same people as the DEATH-before-Ivermectin folks.

FOX News Poll Affirms that America Overwhelmingly Supports Biden’s COVID Policies

Fox News spent months downplaying the severity of the virus, in synchrony with Donald Trump’s deliberate pattern of deception. Trump and Fox News have even refused to promote common sense mitigation practices for fear of upsetting the Trump cult and/or benefitting President Biden.

However, the latest poll from Fox News reveals where the American people stand on Biden’s plan to defeat COVID. And it does not remotely match the anti-vaccine, anti-mask, malarkey peddled by the likes of Tucker Carlson (who says that vaccines don’t work), Sean Hannity (who steers viewers away from getting vaccinated), and Laura Ingraham (who mocks CDC guidelines). In fact, the results show that Biden’s plan – that was viciously disparaged on Fox News – is favored by significant majorities of the American people. for instance…

Republicans refuse to do what the majority of Americans want, they hate and fear the majority and want to stop your vote.

There’s no reason to talk to an anti-vaxxer.

We may need to check to see if the problem is inbreeding.

This strategy also works to convince people to vote Democrat.

If you try to talk to an anti-vaxxer at all, you have to use language that they understand: conspiracy theories with liberals as bad guys. They reject facts and logic automatically. Instead, tell them that liberals don’t want them to get vaccinated against COVID-19 because liberals hope the pandemic will kill them off before they can vote in the next election. And then liberals can replace them with illegal aliens. /s

One more time folks…we have been watching a contest between Biology (science) and Commerce (capitalism). Pick one.

My wife and I had break through Covid about six weeks ago. Not a lot of fun, but since we are vaccinated we weren’t hospitalized and are now fully recovered.

Man, just who are your friends, Rall? They seem horrible.

I think we can all agree that insults do not work with the remaining vaccine hesitant. It’s better to address their anxieties about the vax and try and convince them that by getting vaxxed they’re not only protecting themselves but also their friends and loved ones. That said, my hope is that the courts uphold Biden’s proposed vaccine mandates, if the carrot doesn’t work, the stick might. Also, Ted, the latest research suggest that “Breakthrough” Covid infections are far rarer than initially thought. And if the fully vaxxed do get Covid they will likely get mild symptoms or will be asymptomatic. A friend was going to take me to Annapolis last week but she had a stomach bug so I took the bus. We rode back to DC a few days later, and she said she had a Covid test to make sure she didn’t have Covid. Thankfully, her test came back negative.
