The U.S. military will take you also. Death and debt, life’s two certainties.

Our fed government is complicit in the student loan mess by pushing these loans, making money off of them and not allowing the traditional recourse for those who find themselves way over their head. Allow loans to be paid over whatever term needed and without interest.

Also, the voting age should be 21. Actually, 25 would be better :)

Ah, Student Loans for college. Right now, we are talking about the present situation, which is basically a system for monetizing an entire segment of our population. Student loans are great: you can get as many as you need at rates that are egregious. You may be in some for-profit school which may disappear tomorrow (poof!) while your loan remains chained around your neck (thud!)How is this good for the US?Eisenhower got it right with the National Defense Educational loan system: low rates (3%), reasonable terms and government backing. This system gave the US a big leg up in college educated young people entering the job market, at a time when that was really needed. This was one of those rare government programs which was good for everyone, including large corporations.

The Senate just overwhelmingly voted for a Pentagon budget of $750 billion (the biggest ever), so Trump had no choice but to steal $2.5 million from national parks for his Victory Parade.

Panel 2 doesn’t just drip irony, it’s a downpour. Panel 4 is not entirely accurate. You can get payments suspended while interest accumulates due to low income and after 20-25 years you can get the entire amount waived. That’s not too onerous is it? Thanks Joe. I live in NY and I’d never consider voting for that corporate hack.

Come on, Joe knew the law was bad — he was just protecting the interests of his banker pals in Delaware. Why does Biden have the best chance to beat Trump? Because he’s almost as corrupt!

Student loans were a good idea that have been made terrible by the greedy institutions who raised tuition because the money was there to take. Who would have thought colleges would scam the system? Someone will always figure a way to cheat. Don’t blame those who tried and didn’t see the cheats coming.

They also have no problem with you getting married at that age and younger and starting families whether you want to or not.

It would be bad enough if the interest rate were smaller. Of course, by comparison w/ advanced nations (which we used to think we were) having to pay for an education that will make the nation stronger, wiser and more competitive without assistance from the nation just looks stupid. Except when it looks mean.
