There is actually a joint resolution in Congress that is deeply heretical to the common “wisdom”; H.J. Res. 48.
“H.J.Res.48 – Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States providing that the rights extended by the Constitution are the rights of natural persons only.”
That eliminates the insanity of corporations having the rights of free speech and the freedom of religion. It also includes wording to affirm that, no, money is not speech (as in, campaign financing).
Out of 435 voting House members, the resolution has 21 co-sponsors, plus the non-voting delegate from D.C. Sounds about right.
