I’m starting to buy into some of the Russia allegations thanks to the Mueller investigation. That said, Ted still has a point. I hear a lot of talk about Russia by Democrats, but I don’t see a lot of action against Trump by Democrats in any other area.
I am not a Trumpster, but who has he killed other than the thing in Niger which Republicans ignored because people killed under Republicans don’t count. Such as no Americans died in terrorism under W. 9/11 didn’t count.
I think it’s useful to have a cartoonist on the edge or sometimes over the edge, but this cartoon is just silly. Trump is not Hitler. He is Trump, and that’s bad enough. And the Resistance, by which I mean those who are strongly opposed to Trump, have have not ignored Trump’s terrible policies—there have been big demonstrations about some of them. But so long as the Republicans control the House and the Senate, there’s only so much that can be done in Congress. The Democrats deserve a lot of criticism, for sure, but (a) that criticism should have some basis in reality, and (b) Rall never has any positive suggestions about what to do in the current crisis.
The Russians didn’t elect Trump. We did. Our obsession with Trump/Russia is a tacit acknowledgement that liberal politics are out of touch right now. And if you don’t agree, you belong in the basket of deplorable, too!
Hey establishment Democrats, have you checked the latest polls to see how low respondents rank any hanky panky with or interference by Russia on their list of concerns?
The thing that strikes me as disingenuous about this cartoon is that Ted has indicated (I think he has said this explicitly, on at least one occasion) that he is distrustful of incremental change; he wants everything he wants, and he wants it now.
Disagreements on policy, i.e. fighting Trumpism on the issues, getting opposition candidates elected to the House and Senate, is certainly desireable, but at best it would lead to a mirror of the Obama administration, where NOTHING happens until 2021 at the soonest, because of obstructionism. But if the Trump cabal is ripped out root and stem, then we can set about undoing his damage as early as 2019, and the Russia issue is the one thing that seems capable of facilitating it. Perhaps Ted does not believe (a) that collsion occurred or (b) that it can be proven, but if the ALLEGATIONS of “high crimes and misdemeanors” can be supported by Mueller’s evidence (which I have not seen, no more than Ted has), then it seems to me like impeachment and removal is the appropriate course to pursue.
I certainly don’t recall Ted being supportive of the Democrats’ decision to take impeachment of W. “off the table” in 2004 (or thereabouts). At times it seems the only thing Ted cares about is drone warfare (not a pleasant thing, of course, but it’s the way war is waged at this point, if you’ve got them). I really have no idea whether our drone strikes have dropped off under Trump, or increased, or maintained the same level, but if we have NOT backed away from drone warfare under Trump, I would hope that Ted has the integrity to depict Donald wearing a blood-drenched Generalissimo’s uniform, as he depicted Obama and W.
Technically, Hitler DID collude with Stalin to carve up Poland. Turned out to be as bad a partnership as the one between Putin and Trump, and will likely end the same way; with everyone in Republican Party getting a sudden case of patriotic amnesia as to their ever having been in bed with the enemy.

Like starting a war with Iran because they want to sell oil without using the US dollar.

Oddly enough, neither the FBI or the CIA seems to consider Russian interference a “cockamamie conspiracy theory.”
