Why is it that Republican women never need the services of abortion clinics? Is rape and incest so common among Republicans that it is considered normal? Desirable?

The Republicans want a 21-week time out period so the woman can “Think about what she’s done” After this all abortions will be illegal and the funding for food-stamps, diapers and childcare will be cut off. Then we’ll cut taxes for the rich.

All pro-lifers should be forced to register with a national registry, & be forced to financially support all the non aborted babies. That way there is not a “defetus” attitude.

This debate has little to do with “abortion”. It is a political position of the Republican party. Ending any pregnancy is a very emotional thing and the Republicans are using that emotion to demonize the opposition..If.. the Republicans and “pro-lifers” were truly concerned about the unborn child they would not be so quick to deny funding for the many agencies that help in birth control and related needs.

Wow, because the mother didn’t know it was rape or incest for the first 20 weeks? And only figured it out in her 6 th month?

America is one of the very few civilized countries where abortion is even possible at this stage at all without the life of the mother being threatened at the last moment by unforeseeable circumstances… Even the “progressive” countries in Europe generally see this behavior as abhorrent.

Far too many men are not too bright begin with. With testosterone poisoning on top of that the results are predictable.

Bruce4671For the last 4,000 years, the three Abrahamic religions (as they came on the scene) held as canon law that life begins at quickening (roughly when it is capable of surviving independently). Only since the late 20th century has a bunch of women-haters decided that it starts at the unknown time of conception, and only since Planned Parenthood has provided the means, has it been considered that wanting children is evil.

I guess I’m glad abortion wasn’t available when I was born, but at 8 I heard my folks say I was a “mistake” and they regretted having me. My ’loving" mother repeated this to me every year as my birthday greeting, until she was 100 years old. That my older brother beat me near to death repeatedly, but to my folks it was “my fault” each time, reflected the attitude.

I served in the Army in combat while my brother dodged the draft. I paid for my own college while he was supported through his whole education. He was anti-government but never worked on anything but a government contract, but I was a “government scab” who won medals and spent a career saving peoples’ lives and protecting their heritage and resources.

Even at that, I’m strongly pro-choice, but abortion shouldn’t be the alternative to birth control and family planning, which Planned Parenthood actually promotes.

It is a contested morality when one considers the accomplishments of those who faced hard knocks and survived, even doing well, while the “silver spoon crowd”, like Trump and the Kochs, do everything they can to destroy those same hard workers they CLAIM to support.

Their answer to those who can’t “keep up” is prisons or poverty, and they fight against any efforts to aid them by avoiding those abortions with birth control. The “morality” is a more complex issue, and deserves to be personal.

If a victim of rape or incest does not know by 5 months whether or not to get an abortion, then what is the big deal 20 weeks to make a decision should be more than enough.
