Hitler not so secretly loved the British.

This is like watching someone slip into deeper dementia. Just when you think you’ve seen the worst, most insane interpretation of reality, Ted comes up with something even less anchored to the planet.

Frankly, all politicians of whatever stripe (except the Dump) are subject to unending and merciless criticism if they ever dare change their mind or even admit to not knowing. We and the media do this to ourselves.

“Secretly Donald Trump is thoughtful.” This is the real slam in the toon. Who cares if Ms. Clinton argued in private about this or that. Who cares if she changes her tune on this and that. Mr. Trump is a thoughtless fool. Ignorant beyond belief, he reflects much of the ignorance of his supporters. His feral intelligence, strange emotional insecurity, and inferiority complex makes him especially dangerous and unfit for high office.

Trump could play the part of Gropey Hitler.

Secretly politicians say one thing and do another. Secretly politicians are thoughtful before they speak in public. Secretly you have no influence over politicians, unless you are very very wealthy. Secretly everyone knew all of this.

Not so secretly, they both believe they are of the elite and don’t give a damn about those of us who are not. At least Mr. Sanders has (temporarily?) changed the dialogue.
