Seems like the only ones that should be scared of cops are those that don’t obey orders, criminal drug dealers and thugs that attack cops or others.

I’ve mentioned this before: I do not understand why it is we hear about the 2nd amendment in the US so often, right to bear arms etc, in order to be prepared to withstand treason, a police state and government over- reach etc etc etc: only to then often read from the very same people clamouring about these rights, about ‘obeying’ the police matter what…

It’s like when the cops beat up a defenseless political cartoonist and throw his license into the sewer. It’s just like that!

Even this 65 yr old grandmother is afraid of cops and those law enforcement types who only want to prove my innocence.

Just obey the cops, simple. Unless you are grazing cattle in Nevada, and well armed.

I have a nearly flawless driving record – until recently, not one moving violation in over 35 years of driving, and one fender-bender. I was pulled over by a cop in Medford, MA (yes, this Medford: http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/2015/07/27/cop-caught-dash-cam-threatening-blow-hole-through-driver-head/eyZbmPp22kuuacwx8hHe2M/story.html) for not stopping fully at a four-way stop which was completely empty of traffic and which I know well, going through it almost every day. Was I guilty? Sure, I said so. Did it entitled him to have me sit and wait while he checked my records, then insult me? No, it did not. And I’m white!Yes, I was and am afraid of the police. I am a law-abiding citizen and a long-term member of the community. What does that say about the nature of policing in this country?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Ted. Way to stand behind your journalists, LA Times. And so long, First Amendment. We hardly knew ya (really, hardly).

I hadn’t heard about this so I looked it up:

‘Ted Rall: LAPD Convinced LA Times To Fire Me After I Criticized Cops [exclusive]’

There’s a link to the audio recording used as justification for his firing.
