Man: Not vote? But people died for your right to choose between these guys!
Woman: They were stupid.
Well, Ted IS being “non-partisan”.
I liked it better when he skewered the shrubster, with his continuously dripping nose.
Not voting = giving up your right to complain afterwards.
I am sad that this man has such a lack of respect and understanding for what I do. Please Ted, go live in North Korea and see what the other side is like. I may not like who made it to the final two, but I had my say, and I’m not stupid for fighting for america.
Vote NO on Ted.
Let ‘s all move to North Korea. There we won’t have to worry our lazy brains about voting. Problem solved!
Something has gone terribly wrong with Mr. Rall. First off, I remember when my liberal/progressive friends thought Reagan getting into office would spur a reaction, but they were wrong. If Robme won we would be thrown further down the well.
And for as not voting, that solves nothing. Absolutely nothing. It only allows a psychotic minority to take power and worsen the situation.
Shame Mr. Rall, shame.
If you don’t like either of those two, don’t vote for them. There are third party candidates to choose from or you can write in your own.
" Also, I’d like to read your definition of socialist."His definition of socialist is whatever Fox News commentators tell him it is.
Bullwinkle: “Hey, Rock! Watch me sit out the election so Romney will win, since Romney’s policies will force a revolution!”Rocky: “Again? That trick NEVER works…”Bullwinkle: “This time for sure!”
again teddy you once more show that only in AMERICA would/could you have a job
“If all those people (from 1700s to now) died to make this country, polarized, divisive, mean, in debt for decades, maybe she has reason to think what she says.”
Gentleman: “Don’t take that tone with me, young man. I fought the war for your sort.”Ringo: “I bet you’re sorry you won.”(A Hard Day’s Night)
Rall’s sharp mind and pen seem to have descended into a one-note samba of bitterness. Sad.
I guess Ted Rall figures the country would be in the same shape it is now if McCain beat Obama. My guess is McCain would be another Hoover, but maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the stress of being President would’ve been to much for the old guy & we’d have a President Palin steering us into peace, prosperity & justice for all.
Sorry for all the replies! Sometimes I’m inspired to overrespond.
I think ted makes a valid point. How long have “the people” been voting for tweedledee and tweedledum and things continue to get worse and worse. I think it is about time “the people” start taking charge of their own lives and stop looking for politicians to give them cradle to grave security.
Rall is a dreamer. Romney is too weak to force anything. Without Obama to unite the republican factions they will turn on each other in an effort to be the controlling portion of the party. Romney wins and nothing will improve. Obama wins things might improve.
To die while fighting for freedom back in the days of WWII meant something important. There was a clearly defined threat that meant the end of everything we hold dear. The term the greatest generation fits them perfectly. These days i’m not so sure. In a nation where the biggest business is fear, two of the biggest news networks (Fox, MSNBC) are clearly biased, campaigns are twisted with attack ads, law enforcement is looking more like military, the republicans are opening undermining anything the president tries to do, and our two cadidates seem terrified to offer any detailed plans its hard to imagine how voting in an election will fix anything these days.
Way to go Rall, a Pat Tillman redux.
I like the idea of voting. Someday, maybe, it will mean something. So just to keep it from rusting, I go to the polls and vote — often for my dog, but sometimes there are other possibilities.
Judging from the comments, I’m amazed how many stupid people read Ted Rall. Obviously the cartoon is too smart for the general public.
Since there is no viable third candidate, apparently Mr. Rall is suggesting we sit on our hands.
Ted Rall does have a point, here. The freedoms which people died to provide you with simply do not exist, any more. In their place is a two party dictatorship, a sham democracy which all but begs you to keep believing.
I like the drone in the background a great deal.
