NOVA on PBS had a show on the collapse of the twin towers. When one floor in the middle was severely weakened, it allowed the floors above it to collapse on it. The weight of the floors above it was so great it created a domino affect that caused the entire building to collapse.

When you don’t believe in gravity you can’t understand the laws of physics. The earth is flat. and the sun moves around it.

They are sending jobs over seas because Americans are not willing to work without a union to tell them how to vote and share their wages with the union bosses.

Ever state in the South has right to work laws and very few unions. All our jobs went overseas to low wage countries. County I live in lost over 20,000 jobs and nothing to replace them. Now we buy the same things that we used to make at Wal(China)-Mart imported from China.There was only one union in the county. Almost all the idiots vote Repub. How do you explain that?

It not billions they are sitting on but 2 Trillion dollars and Wall Street is sitting on another Trillion. The wealthy keep their money and to hell with the country.

The US since 2000 has lost 12,000,000 jobs 7-8,000,000 of them in manufactoring, if they created 200,000 jobs every month (which they aren’t doing) it would take until 2022 to just replace the jobs we have lost, this does not include the jobs we need to create every month because of new people coming on the job market., another 150,000. China created 200,000 jobs in just one Ipad plant. Remember Bush created a net zero number of jobs during his eight years. Do they Repubs or Dems have a solution? NO and NO. The Repubs won’t even repeal the law that gives tax breaks to companies to ship jobs over seas.

I’m wondering, in the light of the Giffords shooting, if Mr. Rall is willing to take responsibility for inciting violence – maybe not for this one, but should a Right wingnut get shot? Mr. Rall, are you willing to say, “Good job, fellow patriot?” It is what you’re calling for in your book, after all.

human, rikoshay, I know it’s unsatisfying, but you know Popular Mechanics debunked EVERY SINGLE ONE of the skeptics’ theories and hypotheses. In detail. With real science and engineering. They assembled a team of nine researchers and reporters in addition to their editorial staff (which isn’t composed of amateurs) and consulted more than 70 professionals. If you want my active skepticism, you need better suggestions from you that “try to crush a drink can,” which bears no relationship to the realities of the situation. rikoshay, I have no reason to think that this one guy with a website has any credibility or credentials whatsoever. And can I just point out to you and human that metaphors are not a reliable indicator of reality? Materials have different relative strengths at different size of implementation,otherwise we could build the new WTC out of LEGO.

Let’s look at some recent cover ups:

Abu Ghraib Torture: exposed by military personnel who were just having a laugh.

Wikileaks: Exposed by military personnel with just enough brains to get Secret Clearance and a Lady Gaga CD.

Monica Lewinsky: that’s a secret shared by two people, and still managed to make the light of day.

President Bush accidentally revealed we had decoded Al-Qaeda broadcasts when he said he’d seen the latest bin Laden tape “weeks ago” when it had been released for 2 days.

There were documentary cameras in the building following fire fighters that day. They had footage (that they found too disturbing to use) of jet fuel gushing down elevator shafts immolating people on the lower floors. They were in the basement of Tower 1. They were everywhere the NYFD was. There was no big pile of C4 laying around. You could claim the film makers are part of it, but as your sphere of conspiracy grows, the possibility for exposure grows exponentially.

Generally, the two of you are hiding behind the null hypothesis. I’ll confess I didn’t follow your links because I’m suspicious of the internet in general and I don’t want those sorts of cookies in my cache… However,

After 9 years you don’t have a credible case against a specific bomber. (“the gov’t” doesn’t count) You don’t have any physical evidence. (because it was stolen, eye roll) No one has accidentally posted “participated in WTC bombing conspiracy” on their LinkedIn profile. Which is as likely as your scenarios.

Corollary observation: I’ll be your huckleberry for a second. Yes, its a conspiracy. It is the biggest and most dangerous conspiracy of our generation. There are very few ‘heroes’ searching for the truth, because the enemy is large and dangerous. Can I get some reverb on ‘dangerous?’

So why aren’t any of the truth seekers dying under mysterious causes? IF the enemy is willing to kill thousands of people in the world’s largest business center, why would they be unwilling to poison a handful of bloggers? One guy with a passing interest dies in a bad part of North Minneapolis during a mugging and a woman dies in a commuter plane crash. That is a low percentage… Why do 9/11 Truthers have a better life expectancy than the general population?

PS as a child my favorite way to crush aluminum cans was to stand on them with one foot, and then put a slight dent in the middle with the other foot. CRUSH! Flat can! The trick was getting your ‘denting’ foot out of the way quickly enough, because it happened ‘all at the same time.’

2nd favorite? Winding up and smashing it flat ‘in one try,’ and I was an undersized kid.
