You don’t need to cut the coils, Korak. Just cut the two tentacles (at the right bottom corner of panel 1). After you pull the old man out of the water, then remove the coils.
Looks like the coils are getting loose already, this is what happens when you don’t feed your man eating plant breakfast properly!
