Don’t know why his team wouldn’t be using containers to ship linemen. Even at current freight rates, pro sports is still one industry that can afford them.

The deadpan by the Smasher’s coach in the second panel is priceless.

Coaches usually have little choice in player picks. They just work with what they get!

Offensive linemen don’t get the credit or glory, but you’ll never be a consistent winner without them. Just ask the Jets or Giants.

I don’t know what it is about arrogant coaches who feel compelled to belittle reporters for doing their jobs. On the other hand coaches are guys who couldn’t get jobs in the real world after they were done playing. Meaning they’re not going to be the brightest bulbs in the pack so why expect any sort of meaningful response?

Well, at 32 teams you are bringing more players into the NFL than you did at 12, 16 and 26 teams. And don’t talk to me about the “quality” of ownership. Since the 1970s the NFL has made so much money from television that they do not have to sell a single ticket, parking place or hot dog or beer for the teams to realize a profit. It has morphed from a sport into a 20 episode television show with a 4 episode extra at the end. Once you realize that it is all a vehicle for selling advertising as much as any other tv show, it all becomes clear and sinks to it’s proper level of importance. A diversion for your Fall and Winter Sundays with a few Thursdays and Saturdays thrown in.

A good reason that after game press conference are way overrated, well actually that applies to pretty much all press conferences, sports related or not.
