    Neck deep in the big muddy and don’t forget the Soviets and the British Empire twice a desert for armies I think someone called it. We’re there and continue to stay there to keep an eye on the vast resources nearby

    We have been in Afghanistan in one way (CIA) or another (DOD) continuously since 1979. Seems like we’ll be there a whole lot longer.
