I think Cheney is the most evil man ever to get his hands on our government. I used to think that of Nixon but he was a piker compared to Cheney. Even Macnamara was an amateur compared to him.

I do not know what kind of a fantasy neocon world you live in, but it certainly ignores both history and facts!

We won in Vietnam? We lost some 55,000 killed, and hundreds of thousands maimed for life. Soon after we left the North Vietnamese literally conquered South Vietnam. A country that we left with enough combat aircraft to become the 6th largest aircraforce in the world!

Then, not only does a now united Vietnam not become a pure Communist state, it so angers Mao Tse-tung that he starts a war with North Vietnam some 5 years after Vietnahm is united.

And now that same Vietnahm is the best trading partner of the USA in all of Southeastern Asia. And in fact many of those same Americans that fought there have now gone back as honored tourists. The Vietnamhese are now so capitalistic that they welcome our money with open arms. The irony of that is simply astonishing!

By the way, another casulaty of our losing effort in VietNahm was the greatest space program in the history of the world when Nixon (and yes, LBJ also) would rather drop very expensive bombs on rice paddies in South Eastern Asia than fund the likes of a civilian space program that would have the US with colonies on both the moon and Mars by now!War is generally the most wasteful and useless activity that mankind has ever so evily thought up. I was one of those generally idealistic workers that placed men on the moon, and my entire salary for one year would not have paid for one of those rice paddy attacking bombs. And with the war in Iraq, we were trying to do the same incredibly stupid thing all over again (only this time we got to bomb the desert intead of rice paddies). Will we EVER learn??
