Mitt Romney: Oh, gosh...
Completely off-topic, but my husband elucidated me as to the internet version of what a troll is…a word I have seen often on these political cartoon discussions. People who post things just to make others angry because no one knows who they are, especially if it does not fit their point of view. I did look it up and now know that there can be more definitions. However, I thought it was just a term people were using to disparage others when cursing is not acceptable.
I have a guess for five people who are “trolls” so far (not you Dred – who is the only person on this discussion board so far). Do others have a guess as to how many there are here? Am I over-shooting or under? Or do you think there are none here?
Megan: you already got a “twofer”! There will be more!
Looking at the ‘toon, and all the “steamroller” type after the first “debate”, it was satisfactory to see President Obama come back this time, and yes, run the wrecking ball over Mitt’s “arguments” and falsehoods. Yes, “get the transcript” became a powerful phrase. It should apply to many of the Republican arguments and claims during Mr. Romney’s campaign. The flips, the flops, the outright blatant lies, and attempts to “bully” not so much the opponents ("I’ll bet you $10,000! Wanna’ bet?) in all his appearances, on TV and on the campaign trail, his real effort is to bully the public, and “bull” is his primary weapon.
Great Debate! Anyone that is willing to really listen may have had their bubble busted a bit. Welcome to reality people!
“Trolls tell other people to shut up.”-Ima, you get to be a troll, but you don’t get to define what one is.
Boy it’s cute to think Reid actually has a source :)
To paraphase Forest Gump: A Troll is as a Troll does.
I never thought about some post-ers being the same people using different name/avatar. I should do that and always agree with myself and laugh at my jokes!
I am only 33 and and the computer age has already jetted past my knowledge.
At the very least, I hope everyone is getting a chuckle out me wondering why people were likening others to the beast from Lord of the Rings. In my own defense, I thought the creatures were big, stupid beings who would flail a club about, which seemed apropos for some post-ers.
Like Jon Stewart, I was pleased Obama decided to attend this debate. My ‘friends’ in this forum know I’ll be voting the Democrat ticket. That said, I do not feel either men addressed the questions in the spirit they were asked. Obama did better, Romney was about the same. where’s our third option? /sighRespectfully,C.
mormon mitt got served. he coasted on some positive feedback after the previous debate, and didn’t prepare, and phoned it in.
I enjoyed your post about this topic!
I also enjoyed your post on posting. While I have read the forums for a long time, and have posted in other areas intermittently, my recovery from surgery has given me more time to make my own comments. I do believe there are people paid to go to forums and “troll” in order to distract from the conversation and drive the wedges between neighbors. There are many with whom I disagree who present their positions with respect and eloquence, often with links. There are others with whom I do agree that make me cringe with their tone. I almost always learn from your posts DredpirateRobt$.And inconceivable means exactly what I think it does. ;)And I have learned to live with disappointment. :DRespectfully,C.
