The real problem is the tax ceiling, not the debt ceiling it caused. Yes, we DO spend too much, like gee, $68,000 for ONE “Hellfire” missile to do the job of a bullet. Don’t worry, they’re working on a replacement that only costs $286,000 a copy, to replace a$5 bullet. But hey, that’s “defense” spending. Never mind cruise missiles at $1.3 million apiece to replace an artillery shell either, or quarter BILLION dollar “fighter” aircraft than not only can’t fly to get TO the fight, they’re only intended to get within 125 miles and launch, yep, a missile.
