A thankyou for a thankless task. whew! God bless parents…

I cracked up four times reading this.

With all the news about the supply shortages and exhortations to get the shopping done early — We had our Thanksgiving dinner this afternoon. Wow, I am still so stuffed!

Another Thanksgiving and the kids are in same grades and not a minute older and Grandma still sitting on her …..

In other words: A typical family

Now that was funny!

Every year my wife asks what to fix for Thanksgiving. Every year I ask for steak and lobster. Every year she fixes turkey.

A multi-laugh edition! Wonderful!

It’s all about tradition.

Everyone stay home with their ‘special’ diets and Zoom everyone else. Mute the talk radio junkie uncle if needed. (It is still fun to watch his face turn color. Festive) All the women meet in a separate ‘kitchen’ zoom room for the important gossip.

And don’t forget the Nanaimo bars and Alice B Toklas brownies for dessert. Along with the pies and butter tarts.

My mother-in-law did Thanksgiving every year for 50 years. She amazed me how she not only got the dishes she made, but the ones others brought on the tables hot or cold if that was temperature needed. Always smiling and always willing to do it even when my father-in-law got Alzheimer’s and added to the work. We tried to help but tables were always set by time we arrived. So dishes and clean up was best we could do. She passed 12 years ago and every Thanksgiving I do or daughter does it amazes me how one woman did it all.

Just had a day similar to this today with people dropping by. It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and I’m getting, “Don’t invite them”.

Tofurkey should be BANNED. That stuff is God’s punishment for electing corrupt politicians. lol
