Alix: Are you having fun, Gramma/ Gramma Evie: Working in Haiti is more REWARDING than fun, Alix. Alix: Is Arnold still there? Gramma Evie: He is! Alix: THAT part's fun, right? Gramma Evie: That part is VERY fun. Val: HOW fun? We'd like details. Gramma Evie: I'm sure you would.
I just realized that Alix and her snorkel are in very good company this week. The 40-years-ago Doonesbury flashbacks are about Walden Puddle, and today Zonker is snorkeling in the puddle and pretending to be a U-boat. The tiny puddle has clearly expanded to fit his imagination. And all this week, Hammy was visiting a giant squid in the depths of a sidewalk puddle on Over the Hedge. I love the “bigger inside than out” magics. I wish I had a room like that in my house. :-)
