Phil: Where should we go?
Val: Gosh, I haven't been out to eat in so long. I have no idea.
Phil: Well, what's your main criteria?
Val: No KIDS menu.
Phil: Done!
I also have GREAT kids (all in their 40s-50 now), but having to eat where burgers or chicken fingers are available ALWAYS can be a pain. I love to try a place with a real chef and some “ambiance”. My BF and I took his youngest with us to a lovely place, and I thought she’d at least like the cantalope wrapped with procuitto (sp?) but she fussed about everything and ruined the evening. She’s also now grownup and married like my kids but she was the youngest. Sometimes you want a grownup meal that you don’t cook yourself;-)
