Telling them to stop isn’t going to work. Just separate them and make them do some work. Put that energy and pent-up frustration to good use.

When my boys “tangled” my approach was: 1) “You setle it, or I’ll settle it”, or 2) “If you have that much energy then here are some chores to do” Amazing how quickly peace and reconciliation rained down from heaven on them! P.S. As the father of 4, I would not trade in the various struggles and trials for the amazing joy of parenthood.

Oh, yeah! Whenever my sons start irritating me (usually by fighting) for some reason I remember all sorts of work that they should or could be doing instead. They’ve learned to keep the ruckus down as a result.
