So true, ejcapulet: I haven’t done any Black Friday shopping in years, and that’s after nearly 3 decades of them in retail sales of one sort or another. Once upon a time I could be tempted, but no longer.
Gosh, and miss out on the fun of seeing a Walmart employee trampled to death? And get to watch your fellow shoppers complain when the cops close the store? Not join in the fun of pushing his fellow employees, who are trying to help him, outta yer way because you NEED that plasma TV??
No single Wal-Mart shopper would have trampled the employee, but the IQ of a mob is equal to the lowest IQ of anyone in the mob divided by the number of people in it. The moral: don’t become part of a mob.
You mean this really happened? Now I feel like a jerk. Dark humor is only funny in the theoretical, not the practical.
Yes, it really happened, near Long Island, NY. And yes, one woman was quoted as saying,” I’ve been waiting in line for two days, and I’m gonna keep shopping”, when she heard the announcement that the store was closing because of the death. The truth in this case is worse then anything I could make up. Truthfully, I almost cried when I was typing that first post, the thought of such cruel disregard for a fellow human makes me sick.

I always hated shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. Working in retail for years does that to you.

So sad that. It made the news everywhere. Greed can be an evil thing.

Is it cruel that Val gives Holly one panel of hoping this might work?
