1:Most (not all) kids can hear just fine without reading lips. Kelley may be old enough to have the problem and perhaps not quite realize it. Or, of course, he could be shuckin’ and jivin’.
2: A friend has a very fine and effective mask. And a little mic like they have for gamer headphones inside her mask, and a small (not tiny) speaker mounted on a belt w/ a good sized battery. It is… odd… to hear her speaking from her belly. But easy to understand.
