Well it doesn’t help when the GQP won’t even say what they want to cut from our budget to get them to agree to pay our debts and raise the debt ceiling. It’s not like it’s a Constitutional requirement to do so…oops. What’s that you say? It IS a requirement for us to pay our debts according to the 14th Amendment section 4? So I guess that’s another part of the Constitution they want to disregard, along with laws against treason and sedition…

The GOP knows exactly what they want, and they don’t care if they violate the Constitution and ruin the economy. They want to get rid of Social Security and Medicare. They should be expelled from Congress for dereliction of duty. Only it takes Congress to do that.

Let’s keep it simple. Raise the debt limit and cut the pork out of federal spending.

Yet the Dems love the pork and demand it stays.

Write a budget proposal that doesn’t put the American public in danger.

    1/6 – Never forget.

    1/8 – Nunca se esqueça.

Members of congress can’t write a bipartisan budget or anything else with Republicans who haven’t honored their oath of office nor operated as a functioning Party for at least 15 years.

I don’t want Rs and Ds to be happy with a budget, I just want a reasonable budget. A succesful negotiation means that each party is unhappy with the end result, even though they both got some of what they want.

To the extremist right wing of government that wants to eliminate SSI and Medicare: Give me everything back I have paid in throughout my career, with interest, and I will walk without complaint. Otherwise remove the cap on SSI and make taxation on capital gains equal to taxation on wages. Solvency problem solved on entitlements. Sound reasonable?

Kyrsten Sinema Dining With Kevin McCarthy Sparks Outrage: ‘The Worst’

A photograph of Senator Kyrsten Sinema having dinner with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday triggered a visceral response online, with one progressive campaigner branding it “the worst.”

Racist partisan republicans demand that they get their way.

Ilhan Omar booted from Foreign Affairs Committee

Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar has been booted from the House Foreign Affairs Committee in a move she said was motivated by racism and revenge. Thursday’s vote came after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spent much of the week wrangling members of his party who initially opposed her removal.

It’s time we had a grown-up talk about the other side of the ledger: revenues. Our country has low taxes per our GDP compared to other modern democracies, and we also have a low budget. (We’re not the cool social democracy with think—or fear—we are.)

Unfortunately, it is likely the Dems will have to give up far more than the Repubs to get them to come to the table and agree to something. Because, in the end, it’s only the Dems that care about the nation, and the Repubs know this. This gives the Repubs an edge in any negotiations. So, the Dems have got to be good, very good to save the people.
