Michael Bloomberg is considering getting into the Democratic primary if Joe Biden continues to falter and Elizabeth Warren continues to rise.
Clearly there is no one who threatens the billionaires more than Warren. Bernie Sanders has policy provisions similarly threatening to them, but as Bernie also continues to decline, he is not seen as a serious threat.
No claim to be any great prognosticator, but I do not see that the Democratic Party at this time is in any mood to let a billionaire, whether Bloomberg or Tom Steyer, buy his way to the nomination.
So if he can’t get the nomination of the Democratic Party, would Bloomberg feel sufficiently threatened by Warren to run as an independent?
And if so, would Bloomberg divide the economic (pro-billionaire) conservatives or the anti-Trump contingency? Would he hurt Trump or the Democratic nominee?
Not a rhetorical question. I honestly do not know who would be most damaged by an indie Bloomberg run.
