The damage Trump has done, and continues to do to the country is stunning, as is the continued support he gets from a collection of truly spineless, mindless worms!
Additional poor taste would be designating the Republican Senate as the second plane to hit — but just as valid. And the third plane representing Republicans in the House … was prevented from going through by brave, patriotic people. I’m glad Trump didn’t infect their sacrifice by asking “what they got out of it.” As far as we know.
Our POTUS and all his GOP sycophants are traitors, hell-bent on the destruction of our republic’s infrastructure for personal gain. With any luck at all, every one of them will be voted out and completely removed by January 20. Congratulations @Steve for depicting the clear, precise, and chilling Truth of what is at stake this November.
I was going to say that there’s a huge difference in that the 9/11 terrorist planes were only a brief attack, while Trump is ongoing.
But then I realized that while the initial attack on 9/11 was extremely brief, the calamitous consequences — due in large part to our government’s “response” — have been ongoing… even to this day: Multiple (endless?) wars, the creation of ISIS, the replacement of diplomacy and democracy with coercion and tyranny. Maybe even the Trump presidency?
Could bin Laden and his followers have seen that far ahead. Certainly not in detail, but I wonder. Our enemies have a habit of learning about our culture and the way we think. (You think that their choice of our emergency service number as the date — in our format — for their attack was an accident?) Meanwhile, Americans have a habit of considering other cultures as “inferior” and therefore not worth learning about.
And since we don’t understand them, we totally fail to either predict or effectively deal with any action they may take… much less any subsequent consequence of such actions.
Steve was not trying to be funny. His picture accurately reflects the fact that Trump is doing as much as possible to destroy our democracy and replace it with a dictatorship

Now that looks familiar even though it was 19 years ago. Seems like only about 4 years.

That is in poor taste. To use that image for funny is appalling.

This is just a stark portrayal of the truth. Once again, Steve, you’ve hit the nail directly on the head in the most elegant way. Bravo!

9/11 in 2001: 2,977 dead because Bush paid no attention to presidential daily brief
9/11 in 2020: 196,328 dead because Trump paid no attention to presidential daily brief
Hard to believe that anybody could be 66 times more irresponsible than Dubya, yet here we are.

I’m feeling the same way Steve, times 66 = 200,000 American Covid deaths
