I recall quite a few decided that in the 1970s. There were some 2,000 of them in Vancouver when I was there, although I never knowingly met one. I did meet a large number who were current or former US citizens working to use technology to benefit people instead of corporations (appropriate technology, a banned subject now). We lost the best of a generation to Canada and Sweden.
