“HE passed all the tests.”As had been said before, there are methods that don’t show up on drug tests yet.

Kept thinking of all the “supplements” all athletes consume, that are “natural”, and okay. Opium, pot, and coca are also “natural”, and some “legit” things can match “performance enhancement”. Blood transfusions of course aren’t “natural”, but neither is riding the Tour de France for so many years.

When I use performance enhancing drugs, I always have a big audience to witness it. - - —*This is saying Lance is a stupid idiot.

Last time Lance won the Tour d’F was in 2005 – 7-years ago..Isn’t there a statute of limitation, or is ‘doping’ as bad or worse then murder?.That said, it is highly doubtful that he would have given-up were it not for some solid evidence . . . ..Regardless, to have accomplished what he did with or without the aid of some ‘stuff’ was an amazing achievement, and is therefore not likely to tarnish his ‘persona’ power much.

Yes, there is a statue of limitation. It’s 8 years. There was really no reason why he couldn’t have kept 5 of his victories.

    statute, sorry.

When reading these comments, I really get the impression that most posters have not been watching the Tour over the years.

What was happening was that the stage times slowly and quietly were reduced from 8 hours to 6 hours while the bikers looked stronger and stronger.

Then suddenly they upped the testing, and the stage times returned back to 8 hours.

Enter Lance, and suddenly he’s doing all the stages in 6 hours and winning. However, he is still passing all his drug tests.

Then he retires, and his team appoints his old lieutenant, Floyd Landis as team captain. He does abysmally. Suddenly Lance flies in to be moral coach for the team. Landis then has a press conference in which he states something like “a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do”. He then gets some excellent times, wins the tour, and gets busted for doping.

So, yes, we have really only been sitting waiting for when they would bust Lance Armstrong. Sorry, but it really was that obvious.

Oh, and disqualifying Lance favours German riders, not French ones.

I’m riding to Paris from London in a couple weeks and, as part of my preparation, I have been training with the more experienced cyclists coming along who do this distance in an average week. Of course I’ve been chatting to them about this, mentioning my scepticism and giving Armstrong the benefit of the doubt. To a man, they all do not believe Armstrong. Like yusodum above, this hasn’t been a surprise to them.

If armstrong is so innocent, then why did he give up? The man is banned for life from compeating in the tour and he was striped of his seven titles. If it were me, I would have fought tooth and nail, even if it were for ping pong trophies. Why would he think its better to lose his awards, have his record tarnished, and be considered a laughing stock, if hes CLEAN?

Where is the proof of drug use?? All I have heard is heresay from people he beat in races. All drug tests were negative! You judge him guilty because he refuses to continue fighting allegations that has been defeated many times. This cartoon needs to have an apology to Mr. Armstrong and a healthy donation to Live Strong.

[his opponents]: My work colleagues riding with me are mostly British. They’re pretty indifferent to his nationality. A couple were disappointed but now believe he is a cheat, a couple others never believed him. shrugWe’ll have a French rider along later but I haven’t met him yet. I’ll be sure to ask him. ;-) We’ll also be joined by a Swiss & a German rider, I can ask their opinions, too.But in the end it will only be speculation. I would like to see Lance Armstrong cleared of any allegations but since I don’t get to see any evidence either way, I shall remain neutral.
