I passed an RV on the interstate one night and I could see an adult movie through the window. After I passed, I saw—in my rear view mirror—the guy behind me swerve and almost run off the road as he passed the RV…
I got stopped once heading to an outdoor concert years and years ago. I was driving a VW Beetle, had long hair (as did my fellow passengers) and had just driven off a ferry boat onto terra firma. The cop (RCMP) claimed that I was “weaving over the line,” which I rebutted and gave me a ticket. I sent a letter to the commissioner of the RCMP and about 3 weeks later got a call from the local superintendent, asking to meet. He took me out to supper, asked for the ticket and tore it up. Oh, did I forget to say that I was a newspaper reporter at the time. Coincidence, I think not.
One time I got really lucky. Was sitting at a red light and checked email on my phone. Light changed and I put the phone down and proceeded. Got pulled over and cited for checking email on the phone. The ticket specifically said that.
This was the time when they were changing the laws to outlaw using phones in cars. I read the law and it said couldn’t be making phone calls or texting. Nothing about checking email.
Went to court and got the cop to admit I was checking email (since it was written on the ticket). Pointed out to the judge that checking email was not a violation of that law since I wasn’t making a phone call or texting. Judge was NOT happy but after reading the law had to dismiss the ticket.
Within a month they had changed the law to include checking email. Needless to say I don’t do that anymore!

At least it was the passenger watching a film, not the driver.

Think that’s far fetched? What might a police officer think if he saw a kid watching one of Dad’s porn flicks that got mistakenly put in the van?

Most of the traffic laws are there so the cops can pile on if they have to stop you.

PG-13 “allows” a child under 13 to watch with parental permission so what’s the problem?
