When you get the government and union involved the price of something very minor can wind up wild. A friend of mine was working at a plant where they need a piece of conduit bent to reach a switchbox. The electrician and plumber were arguing over whose job it was to bend the conduit. The plumber said it was pipe and his job where the electrician said it was part of the wiring and his job. Finally the engineer picked up the conduit, bent it and put it in place, a total of less than five minutes. The two union workers protested so they both got paid for a job that neither one did and included the time spent arguing and filing the protest.
