Reminds me of a guy I knew at work. He had a handicap license plate, claimed he “deserved” it because he was a “disabled veteran”. He went to the gym regularly and was in a LOT better shape than I was.
There is a huge difference between “disabled” and “handicapped”. The first means you are no longer capable of performing a particular job, the latter means you have difficulty doing day-to-day tasks.
We live in a land where walking and Biking paths have parking lots, and people think nothing of taking an elevator up one floor to work out on a StairMaster.
Tomorrow he won’t find a parking space anywhere. Amazing how the gyms all fill up on Jan. 2nd, but by the end of February are darn near deserted again.
I’m old but don’t have handicap plates. I laugh at my gym at the jocks who fight for the closest parking spaces and park illegally along the curbs instead of parking in a row farther back. Like they can’t handle the extra exercise.

I just love seeing a jacked up pickup or SUV with a “handicapped” plate on it. The only “pass” I’d give on that is someone who had COPD.
