We had the most loving, sweet-tempered dog in the world a number of years ago. His beautiful eyes would gaze up in adoration when he was petted and stroked. We knew, however, that those eyes were beautiful because he never suffered from stress, or thought in any form. He was the stupidest dog we have ever known. He would go outside to pee, then stand there with a bewildered look, trying to figure out where he was and what to do.We would have to go outside and put the leash on him, and walk him back inside.Sometimes he would forget to raise his leg and would pee on it.He ate wasps. He loved slimy dead things. Rolling in them was great. Snarfing them down was even better. He was genuinely puzzled as to why we would stop him from eating these delicacies and would give his goofy dog smile as if to say, " Don’t worry. I’ll share."We were absolutely besotted with him. He was the dearest thing and we were bereft whenhe left us for The Rainbow Bridge.
