Stop portraying myself so accurately, already, because dang it, I do the same thing!
If I’m going to go through all the trouble of starting to read a book, then I’m going to be inclined to finish it too.
It’d have to be a seriously bad book to get me to stop reading it halfway. Or more adult than I’m willing to read, but usually I can tell that’s going to be the case before going into it.
I rarely finish a bad book unless I need material for my writing blog on what not to do. I can usually tell by the first chapter if it’s badly written, a few more chapters if it’s badly constructed, then I delete it and move on to something better. Recently, I’ve been having trouble with finding that something better.
