For all that this is just a comic, it is the parents’ responsibility to get the kid out of the house as a functioning adult. My folks made it clear that once we were done with school, we’d have jobs and either an apartment, or we’d pay room and board at home. All 5 of us managed to accomplish it, as have our offspring. That’s how it’s supposed to work.
