Everybody makes mistakes.

That was an eye-opener for Rose. Parents, especially Meemaw, make mistakes — No Way!

Who is Fanny and why doesn’t she visit complete with an alter ego?

Sure she did, but she adapted and overcame. One learns from mistakes if one cares enough to try again. Just gotta be brave enough, driven enough to try again.

I’ve always been transparent (no pun intended) with my daughters. One lesson I taught them at a very young age is that you’re never too old to apologize for your mistakes. For instance, if I blamed one of them for something & it turns out that she didn’t do it, I would apologize and SAY “I was wrong.” However, I’ve also taught them that one shouldn’t just say “sorry” but also WHY they’re sorry.

and learned from those mistakes….

and there’s that moment of discovery.

The first was naming a girl “Fanny”.

No one is perfect…..

Mistakes are easy. Successful recoveries are a learned craft and talent.

Wish we could “meet” Rosie’s father, and Jimbo’s parents as well….

It can be so Shocking to learn that your Parents are not Perfect.

Especially if you learn it at age 2.

If a child thinks that you didn’t make any mistakes as parent … LET THEM! Soon enough they will come back to you with something, enjoy it while you can.

Sure, all parents make mistakes. Some of those mistakes are costly for parents and their kids. It’s what they do about the mistake that counts.

It’s like singing in public; the key is to not react when you flub a note, and then nobody will notice.
