Science is for losers who would rather live in the present than in the past.

Science is not a religion. One doesn’t “believe” in science. It’s no wonder this country is so much in trouble because so few people understand what science it, and too few scientists and engineers are in our economy.

Noam Chomsky: Republican Party is the most dangerous organisation in human history

‘Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?’ says distinguished academic.

The eminent intellectual, who is famed for his radical views, said the Trump administration had shown total and utter disregard for the future of the planet and appeared dedicated to dismantling previous legacies to tackle climate change.

Chomsky, professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, argued the administration was prioritising “profits and power” and “systematically” destroying governmental institutions, such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy, which are in place to address global warming.

“Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?” he asked the audience at a Democracy Now! event.

“Not that I’m aware of. Is the Republican organisation – I hesitate to call it a party – committed to that? Overwhelmingly. There isn’t even any question about it.”

Chomsky argued that America was isolating itself as one of the only countries not to be engaging in efforts to tackle climate change.

Poor people are focused on where their next meal is coming from.

Business is focused on the next quarterly report.

Sports are focused on the end of the current season.

Politicians are focused on the next election (typically <2 years off).

    Religion is focused on eternity.

The only institution that’s really concerned with the middle term, where almost all of us will be spending almost all of our lives, is science.

It’s all just evolution. Survival of the fittest. Darwinian selection. Soon this species will no longer inhabit the planet. We are like parasites, feeding on the host until we kill it.

Fortunately science-and BIG money-are moving into renewables in a big way. 82% of all power generation installed in 2020 was renewable. 82%!! They ain’t opening a lotta coal mines no more!
