Don’t spend money, just let everyone become homeless and die. I guess it beats surviving long enough to die from using the death-trap, outdated infrastructure.

The GQP is just doing what it’s been paid to do. Your opinion that they were elected to do something else is just BS. Their first (and second) loyalty is to themselves (and the obscenely rich).

Isn’t it amazing that Republicans don’t want the government spending the people’s money … on the people? They want it all to go to their corporate elites. Everything they do serves that purpose.

The blockage caused a panic among American interests. It was moved, quickly. The GOP isn’t bothering any business people, the GOP blockage will remain in place.

Without the GQP muddling the minds of the middle-class, the 0.01% might be seen as greedy, self-serving, counter-productive, money-hoarders rather than proactive patriotic job-creating entrepreneurs that deserve tax breaks, special rights/privileges, and exemptions from laws that the middle-class must conform to.

Time to “blow” up that impediment to progress for all Americans, not just a privileged few.

Primer for Dummies. A small fraction of the American Jobs Bill is for infrastructure. The name itself is another misnomer. Universal Pre-K, free community college, child tax credits, national paid leave, are not infrastructure. These are welfare programs.

A lot of cities already have infrastructure budgeted. They will cost shift their spending to the Federal government and use the originally budgeted money that they have raised taxes to get, for more intra-city welfare spending. No new infrastructure spending. Don’t know about your part of the country, but around here, massive road building has been going on for years and most won’t be finished for another year, at least.

A huge chunk is going for ‘green new deal’ projects, like Solyndra. Since China and other countries produce green energy products far cheaper than we will be able to do with ‘new good paying union jobs’, watch this stuff collapse like Solyndra. BTW, killing actual good paying fossil fuel jobs. You might ask yourself where the electricity is going to come from for the 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations. Chinese solar panels?

Hooray! Biden is targeting those rich corporations with higher taxes than Chinese companies pay in China. Yeah, that’s going to make us competitive in the world. Finally, those rich people who live on capital gains are going to pay ‘their fair share’. Except, if you sell your house for a profit, have a 401K, any retirement stock investments…guess which suckers get hit with that one? You probably won’t see an increase in your Federal tax rate, but the tax increases on corporations and the wealthy will get passed on to you in the form of inflation. Everything will start costing more. A lot more.

For those of you who work in one of the 27 ‘right-to-work’ states, sorry. Forced unionization is part of the bill.

The spending is spread out over 8 years requiring 15 years worth of taxes to pay for it. You know how that is going to work out.

Repubs are basically reactionary. They wait until the last moment and then take action. But, the action taken is usually inadequate for the need and only delays total destruction. Dems, however, tend to plan ahead, invest in the future with infrastructure investments and social programs for the people. Repubs call it buying votes, but they bought support from their wealthy donors and party members with their last multi trillion dollar tax cut.

40 years ago they were talking about the new conservativism. To me it sounded like the old feudalism. There’s one big difference, though. In feudalism it was the lords and not the peasants who paid taxes to the crown.

(Take-off from the opening theme song to “Gilligan’s Island,” by George Wyle and Sherwood Schwartz)

    ”Run Aground On Land”

Just lean up close and read this rhyme,

A rhyme ‘bout a bummer trip

    That started in 20-17

    Aboard The Donald’s ship.

    .

McConnell was a sullen bosun then,

    The Captain crude and snide,

They took the country out that day

    On a four-year-long ride.

    .

    The mood aboard was turbulent,

The Ship of State was rocked,

With the pirate crew of Republicans,

In Dire Straits it was blocked.

    .

The Ship was stuck, the Captain was

    Relieved of his duty.

The passengers, near half of them,

    Were convinced twas mutiny.

    .

    The newly installed Skipper now

Is left with quite a mess,

    Hostility among the former crew

    Impeded much planned progress.

    .

The crew he’s hired now must strive

To once more resume the course,

    Expending treasure from the stores,

    And build medical resource.

    .

Let’s hope we won’t be castaways,

    When rescue plans are done.

The hope is the ship will be on its way

By the end of year 20-21.

Mitch McConnell said there would be no republican votes for infrastructure.

Now the dems can freely move along without them.
