The debate showed the world what a pathetic chump you have for a president. Rude, no manners, bullying, deceitful and even worse threatening to unleash the RW fascists on the population. Completely treasonous.

They should have turned off Trump’s mike while Biden was speaking.

Second or third ‘toon since the debates that’s made this point. I’m not saying it wouldn’t work, but I think giving the moderator a kill switch for each of the mics would be just as effective. And maybe a lyin’ tamer’s whip.

Or how about this: If he pushes the button once, it gives a 3-second timeout. Second time it gives a 6-second timeout. Third time doubles it again to 12 seconds, and continue doubling for each subsequent push. I bet he’d be on timeout until the end of the debate within 10 minutes.

Well, lady, she couldn’t do any worse.

OK, I’m not gonna rag on Chris Wallace. He was faced with a raging bully spewing his garbage and lies. When someone refuses to act in a civilized manner there is nothing civilized people can do short of physical violence (not an option here) to get them to shut up. Appealing to them like they are rational adults is pointless. Trump’s behavior was planned, deliberate, and in his mind effective. Trying to “talk him down” is like trying to get a five year old to stop screaming when they want something after they’ve learned that if they scream loud enough and long enough they will get what they want. If anyone can point to anything Wallace could have done to ACTUALLY corral trump I’d be interested to hear it.

I have quite a few teacher friends. They suggested zoom with a teacher as a moderator. No joking. Also suggested a high school librarian as moderator. I’m a retired school librarian – was reminded how I could quiet a kid with just a look. Ah, the good ol’ days.

The temperament/maturity of a three year old with a four year old vocabulary. I know it is an elitist sentiment but my President has to be smarter than me for me to take him OR her seriously.

It’s doubtful that anyone could have done better than Chris.. Rational discussion with trump is impossible.

What did you expect a right wing moderator from Fox might do?

@Fflashbang- I’ve said a thousand times that this is who THEY wanted sitting on Capital Hill! Even Trump’s own mother said that holy hell would break loose if he ever got into politics! And I’ve also said that the biggest mind boggler to me was putting someone in office with absolutely no political experience whatsoever! I’ll NEVER understand that as well as probably most of you!

Still haven’t seen or heard any of it. By every account, it was just what I expected it would be.

It was political theater folks, not a debate.

I don’t care if you do like Trump’s policies. It doesn’t change the fact that he is a infantile, name-calling, lying, tax-cheating pig with no sense of shame or decency who wants to be a dictator, not a president. You can’t tell me there aren’t other conservatives who could do the job without destroying the respect the office is supposed to command.

I actually yelled at my TV that Trump should get over his Trumper tantrum and let the grownups talk!

Children should be seen and not herd mentality.

You might have a pretty good idea here Robert; a middle school teacher to moderate; she’s used to misbehaved children.
