The State of the Union speech didn’t move me. As long as our two party system holds party loyalty as more important than an United people, we are not ‘strong’. I’ve heard numerous business leaders and small businessmen begging for DC to quit playing games and get to work. I also watched the heads of the military tell congress the risk to our country and our servicemen the inactions of this congress is creating. Leon Panetta has had increasingly strong words for congress.Congress does not care about the American people. They will use their offices to manipulate markets and arrange for after cushy after congress jobs while enjoying permanent benefits from their time in office and then retire in another country whose politicians haven’t ruined the environment, the educations system, debt, etc, etc, etc………Sadly,C.

Interesting, since it’s mostly the right wing whackos that wanted to “nuke all the towelheads and let God sort them out” a few years ago. Now that one happens to be American working for a terrorist organization, it’s wrong?-I’m not a fan of what Obama is doing or what Bush did on policy on this (I’d rather just get our military out of there and let the Middle East’s chips fall as they may).

C- It’s too bad retired Congressmen DON’T retire! Unlike senior executives who may not work for or lobby for those they regulated for several years after leaving government service, they go to work for “think tanks” where they write “position papers”, and based on those, get to “testify” before their former colleagues in favor of their pet positions/ideologies/industries with no apparent conflicts.

There is plenty of blame to go around. Reid is just a start. When all is said and done, though, the fault lies with the American Voter. The average voter seems to listen to the words spoken, ignoring the actions that don’t match the words.

" we in the GOP shall defend its principles and postulates unto death"Huh, for a minute there I thought he said “principles & prostates”. Same thing, really.
