All through the campaign, Republicans bitterly criticized Obama for a lack of leadership. Now, when Republicans desperately need a spending cuts proposal of their own, WHO is their leader?-Is it ….Grover? No? Mitch? Hmmm. Paul Ryan of ‘budget’ fame? Oooh, uh-uh. Rush! Oh, Rush says to do the cliff.-Boehner? Right. He’s made lots of proposals. Willard? Oh, he’s got a proposal, but it’s still secret.-Maybe Eric Cantor with his laser-like focus on jobs. Oh, wait…. that resulted in anti-abortion bills and continued repeal of ACA.-Where IS the Republican leadership?

Boehner needs to step down as Speaker so that we can get a real leader in there. I think I’ll start a campaign to Primary him ASAP.

Now that Grover Norquist has been fired.

How about cut military spending abroad?

The scary thing is that John McCain seems to be acting as leader these days. Since no one else will fill the gap…

Obviously the republicans have enormous changes to make to restore their credibility with their base, like move into the 21st century on social issues, economics and expanding their ethnic/gender base. But before anyone gets to heady about owning the world, remember the democrats were in the same position during the 70’s and 80’s. They had to “reinvent” themselves to be able to get Bill Clinton elected in 1992. Hopefully we (Libertarians) can get a much stronger foothold and expand our platform to compete more aggressively in 2016.

Cuts in waste in “defense” and contracting we don’t need. Cutting waste and fraud in Medicare paid to insurance companies and “providers”. Holding the line on salary increases in the federal government. Obama has come up with many more significant cuts, and asked for a minor tax increase on the wealthy, a real increase, not just swapping one deduction for another as Republicans have proposed, that will do NOTHING!

The American people need to realize that “leadership” from Boehner, Cantor, Norquist, McConnell, and well, the whole GOP all come from the "Custer school’, go for the publicity, and don’t worry about those arrows.

I’m not a GOP member but I sure would not vote for Boehner or his House clique that just took revenge on elected conservatives by removing them from committee leadership.-If the Obama Democrats can manage it, they will eliminate the Republican Party….on their road to a Marxist-Socialist Dictatorship.

“Why won’t Obama say what he’s willing to cut?”If ignorance is bliss, you must be one happy guy. Obama proposed about $800 billion in cuts, and $1.6 trillion in new revenue over the next 10 years. Everyone knew the Republicans wanted more cuts and less revenue, but the GOP doesn’t seem to be able to agree on what they want. It isn’t Obama’s job to try to guess what the Republicans want. He tried that before and got snubbed.

If they keep moving farther right they will have a very small base.
