I saw a good quote yesterday. The Arab uprisings began when Arabs lost fear of their leaders. The uprisings have stalled because Arabs still fear each other.
Here in the USA we fear the corporations and wall street.Well, yeah. Now that their thugs can use giant speakers on us for “crowd control” to bloody our eardrums, and can mace us with impunity.
And we fear our banks because if they slash their own thoats with stupid trade losses, our tax dollars will cover their losses.
Nobody HAS A CLUE what will actually happen if Assad goes! It’s a total potential mess, just like everything else our (or the west’s) intervention has caused in the Middle East, going back to even before 1948. (Like Mobil “creating” Saudi Arabia in 1923 economically.)
Romney the Chickenhawk may want to invade somewhere. Syria is probably as good a place as any, now that Iraq has been established as an outpost of Freedom.
