I believe that about W Buffet, he has lived in the same small house for 50+ years, drives a used car and truck. I respect him a lot!

The factoid about cigarette butts being the most littered item is right up there with saying peanuts are legumes.

Back in the day, kids at my school often chanted, “I hate to be mean, but you need Listerine. Not a sip, not a swallow, but the entire bottle.”

Glad they finally started making Listerine minty. The brown stuff was intolerable.

I never get coupons for places I ever go. I live in an apartment and don’t drive. 90% of the coupons that i get in my mailbox are for discounts on home renovations and car repairs like oil changes.

Let’s start a movement to have cigarette makers use biodegradable filters, such as Greenbutts. https://www.greenbutts.com/

Cigarette butts are disgusting and people who throw them about casually are really being insensitive. The office next to us, the girls toss their butts in front of our office door and none of us smoke! We even bought them an outdoor cigarette disposal bin but it disappeared.

    TODAY IN RUSSIA

The food shortages are becoming intolerable.People areswarming the streets, looking for food.

A head of lettuce walks down the street and the mob jumps on it and tears it to bits.

Ten minutes later,a potato walks down the street. The mobjumps on it and tears it to bits.

Then a pork chop walks down the street.Somebody trying to helpful yells—-“Get off t he street!Do you want to get yourself killed?”

And the pork chop says—It’s okay!! It’s been so long that nobody recognizes me!"

I used to work at a department store that offered coupons. A local woman who won a multi-million lotto came in to buy dishes and housewares for her new house, she used coupons. Your habits don’t die easily. Btw, she has been very generous to her community and friends.

Search google for a pic of Warren and Bill Murray eating ice cream. They look like the happiest geriatrics in public!

I think a large portion of the discarded cigarette butts are in front of my house. I live on a county road and close to traffic light and there are always many butts on the side of the road near my driveway.

I remember my grandfather, who chain smoked, taking the ashtray out of his car and dumping the contents in trash cans wherever we stopped. Then, a decade or so, later I remember seeing people dump their car ashtrays out on the ground wherever they were stopped, even if a trash can was just a few feet away. Then, afterwards, I noticed smokers just throw their still smoking butts out the car windows; and cars don’t have ash trays anymore.

I was riding my motorcycle to work one day when a driver in front of me threw her cig butt out the window and it bounced and landed in the cuff of my pants leg. I got it out quickly while still driving, but it still burned a hole in the fabric. I wanted to catch up to her and throw it back into her car, but she’d put her window back up and drove away from where I was going.

    Best Salesman of the year

At a sales conference, one of the awards went to Matthew for best salesman. He’d sold a record quantity of mouthwash. After he’d been presented with his award, he was asked for the secret of his success.

“Oh it’s simple really,” said Matthew. “I set up a mobile stall during rush-hour and give away free samples of a ‘new meat paste’.

When people ask me what it contains, I wait until they’re using it, then tell them it has venison, herbs and natural bull droppings.

As they heave and spit it out, I ask them if they’d like to buy a bottle of our mouthwash.”

Why wouldn’t the Listerine go down the drain?

    Because it’s antiseptic.

I guess I’m done. Until next time.

Yes cig butts are a cause of wildfire and numerous problems: smoking’s Impact on Wildlife – The Overlooked Damage Done by TobaccoSmoking isn’t just harmful to the smoker. With cigarette butt littering being a huge problem across the world, people are becoming increasingly aware of the negative and harmful effects this can have on wildlife.

Smoking is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans each year, mainly smokers, but also those exposed to cigarette smoke second-hand. As the public gradually learned about the abundant risks of smoking, more and more smokers at least tried to kick the habit. Thanks to educational public health campaigns and interventions like raising the tax on cigarettes, the smoking rate has declined dramatically. Unfortunately, though, around 17% of Americans still smoke, and the harm from smoking stretches further than most smokers realize. Smoking’s impact on wildlife is one of the many sources of harm from smoking, and is one of the most overlooked.Cigarette Butts: Toxic and Non-Biodegradable

The design of cigarettes means they’ll always generate waste. Smokers consume the tobacco rod from the cigarette, but after each one, the “butt” section must be disposed of. If this is done appropriately and responsibly, the impact of this is drastically reduced. However, it often isn’t.

Despite some misunderstanding among the public, cigarette butts are not biodegradable. They’re composed of cellulose acetate, which can be broken down under the influence of ultra-violet radiation (from the sun), but the actual material making up the butt merely becomes diluted into soils or waters.

Cigarette smoke is a chemical cocktail, and a substantial proportion of the chemicals found in cigarette smoke are toxic to most forms of life. These chemicals find their way into the cigarette butts too, with studies finding chemicals such as cadmium, arsenic, nicotine, several heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in butts.

Given the news about ants, we need some mad scientist to create an ant that eats cigarette butts, then another ant that eats plastic. After a few years, we’ll have solved the global litter problem!
