Hey now Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Comic fans! Ready for a “You name it!” joke? Imagine the family in this story as whatever ethnicity or nationality you’d like. Italian, Irish, Jewish, Chinese, Hispanic, your pick.

An old shop owner is on his deathbed in the hospital. His family comes to visit him as he’s waking up from a deep sleep. He looks around the room in a daze, still half asleep, and calls out to them one by one.“My beautiful wife! Are you here”“Yes I am here my husband!”, she calls back to him. “My lovely daughter! Are you also here?”“Yes I am here father”, she answers.“And my son! Are you here, too?”“Yes I’m here my father!” calls out the son.The father bellows: “Well, if all of you’re here, then who’s looking after the shop???”

How’d that work for you? Silver. Out!

I wonder why their abs are so different than the abs on a person. On an insect, it looks more like their butts.

May the Lord be with you.

It’s not just owls. Ever watch a cat? They track with their whole head because their eyes don’t move like ours do.

The coffee break arrived around the same time.

For owls, there’s not that much to see anymore, so why bother.

Is the honey storer male or female? That could affect relationships.

They can not move their eyes because their eyes are oblong, so no space inside the socket for them to turn.

An owl with his supper perched on a deck post and I stepped out to get a photo. Didn’t bother him. He just looked at me as if to say, I am eating! Have some manners! Got the pic and that look. Treasure it.

My gran on my mother’s side was a Scot and my gran on my father’s side was First Nations, Haida Tlingit. No coffee. Tea in all its varieties and flavours. Summer morning tea: Earl Grey, Hot.

That’s why Owls can pivot their heads 270 degrees. Try that and your nick snaps.

It was not the “U.S.” in 1773.

Retrieval of the food by the colony is not pretty.

    Owls don’t have eyeballs.

War of 1812 is when the REAL cultural split began. The entire Federalist Party went down the drain because of their ties with the British.

I wonder what would happen today, if the leader of a major political party aligned itself closely to a strong, dedicated adversary of the United States? Would we have the courage to denounce that leader and the party that he led?

Some sick people will feel the urge to squish this ant. Not being sick, I do not feel the urge. I wonder what shoes should those sick people wear, or maybe bare foot would be better! Those people are disgusting.

Learned the bit about owls sixty-some years ago from Thornton W. Burgess: How the Eyes of Old Mr. Owl Became Fixed. I knew the Mother West Wind stories before I knew Oz, or Winnie-the-Pooh, or the Just-So Stories.
