A good back story about McCurdy involving a train robbery, a shootout, and “The Six Million Dollar Man” — https://bit.ly/1kC923o

If you ever read the contract on a telegram form(I was very bored that day) they only guarantee to delivery but not when. The same with freight lines and airlines.

Don McLean wrote an interesting song about a man whose body was displayed in a circus after an accident cut his life short, called The Legend of Andrew McCrew. You can find it on YouTube if you’re interested.

Western Union – fastest way to send money. (But no way to get it back!)

According to, “The Toys that Made Us,” (A Netflix series about popular toy lines), McCurdy’s corpse was the inspiration for, “Skeletor,” the main bad guy in the He-Man toy story. One of his designers had visited the amusement park as a child and never forgotten it though I don’t really see a resemblance.

Even though Elmer McCurdy had been a criminal he didn’t deserve to have his body desecrated like that. That’s so sad.
