Our anthem can’t be sung by most Americans because of the octave and a half vocal range of the piece.

I lived in Scotland for 3 years. I didn’t think piping sounded bad at all. But how anyone could discern one song from another is beyond my ken!

One chance in 2,134,521. Same as being born on April 1 of a leap year.

It would be impossible for a father and a son to be born on the exact same day, wouldn’t it?

“Amazing Grace” is (in my opinion) the only song that should be played on a bagpipe!

Nothing like the bagpipes. I was in a Scottish regiment and we had a full band. During a battalion exercise/deployment they were on the field and playing while we advanced , as far as the eyes could see, left and right there were soldiers. It was a sight to see and a feeling of immortality. You knew then how people could just walk into battle during a war.

Is that because Flower of Scotland has an a capella verse?
