That’s my Rip. Ever so humble.
I dunno, Rip. These sheriff gigs never seem to end well.
Rip’s knuckles just broke out in full-jointed laughter.
Two concerns and a questions for Dan….(1) Rip was already the Sheriff of Starlight County. If I recall correctly, Breezy’s Uncle Spur fired Rip for Rodeo Jones; (2) In most states, sheriff is an elected position, not appointed. When a sheriff resigns, dies in office or is removed, the County commission appoints a replacement, at least until an election can be held. (3) Doesn’t Breezy “own” Starlight County? The late, aforementioned Uncle Spur owned the entire county and held several titles. I’d be curious to know if Breezy inherited those titles like she inherited the county.
Did the mayor consult Breezy before appointing Rip Sherriff? As I recall, she is the “power behind the throne.” And, what about RJ? Is he going to be Rip’s deputy (an effective one, unlike what is portrayed in certain TV comedies,) going back to “advenurer?mercanary/spy” school, what?
You saved his life twice, Rip. At least he’s a pretty good judge of YOUR character.
KA-GOOD JUDGE OF CHARACTER!
It’s sad to see Flytackle go, but at least he’s still alive. (And he was wise to select Rip, as his successor.)
Whelp, Rip has his dream job back. I will miss Flytackle, though. Perhaps he can tell more war stories…
