Fireworks never bothered either of our dogs. And, most of the rest of the dogs in our neighborhood weren’t bothered by them, either. Guess we were in the minority.
Shelters all across the USA will be flooded due to the fireworks. Do make sure you protect and secure your pets if you are going to leave them alone tonight!
Very nice! I take my boy outside during thunderstorms and we sit on the porch and I pet him and he realizes there is nothing to fear. And, the fact he is a Hunting Dog, I don’t think those sounds bother him. Now if I could just get him to not fear the vacuum cleaner…
FYI: Earphones don’t work for dogs — at least neither of mine.My husky’s gonna get a dose of tranquilizer as well as chamomile spray on her Thunder Shirt before she goes to hide under our bed.I’m gonna have a couple locally brewed pilsners while maybe watching some of the city-hosted display.
Oh, yeah!! Brian Bassett, you would have loved to hear me “reading” this one. My heartfelt “aawwww” turned into a big ol’ belly laugh when I saw the earmuffs. Excellent sense of humor and beautifully rendered.

We live about a mile from where our town puts on a fireworks show every 4th and it always scares our cat. He’s very edgy the whole time.
