The book is the escape from the monsters that surround us and fall everyday like media rain.

Interesting artwork that might have been a cover for the “New Yorker”, but I am not sure whether this was intended as a political cartoon or what it’s supposed to be saying.

I see the reading woman as the unaware global citizen while ills surround. It is metaphor for our complacency in the face of all the problems about. And the art is very good.

I see a reader imbedded in a good read, totally uninterested in the cacophony of inane and viral drivel of broadcast media that encircles her. The stash of reads beneath her represents the incredible good and worthwhile writing that is available in library systems. She is seen totally rejecting the broadcast media “noise” in favor of substance in the written word. Also, Rebecca Hendin’s work is First Class.

City-folk youth, immersed in their Social Media devices and daily trivialities, pay little mind to the monstrous Four Horsemen freed by the useful-idiot MAGA minions, who are so enraptured by their own orgies of cruelty and hatred, will themselves end up victims of those demons, languishing forever in a traitorous black flame of their own making, that gives no heat, sheds no light, yet consumes their flesh forever and will never go out.

    Or words to that effect.

What? You expect us to be nice to our executioners? Oh, I don’t think so. We will not go quietly into fiefdom servitude to an oligarch dictatorship.

Taking some time to disconnect with a book from the scary misinformation trying to rain down on her?

A definition of Art: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty and/or emotional power.(thank you for this powerful artwork)
