No fireworks of any kind, even “safe and sane” ones, are allowed in this county and most others around here due to the fire danger.

Many years ago I had a neighbor who was a chemist. Fireworks, safe and sane, were allowed but he decided to built a rocket. With much fanfare from his buddies, we looked on as the rocket rose about 50 feet into the air, did a 180 degree turn, imbedded itself burning in an adjacent vacant lot. We all rushed to put it out. I asked if should call the fire department but one of his buddies was a fireman!

And, just for the sake of conversation: Does you house have a fire hydrant out front?
