I have a ton of those.

Keep it. I might be able to use it on something else.

I throw it away and sure enough, I will find the thing it goes to about a week later.

I have a slightly different issue. I will buy something I need, then forget where I put it, buy another one, and the first one shows up. I now have an additional socket wrench set, and two flash (thumb) drives that I don’t need. As far as the issue at hand here, if I don’t use something for a year, I toss it.

I used to have a special drawer for those this, but now it’s a closet
