   That sounds very like the poem “Mending Wall” by Robert Frost. It starts as follows:

   Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,And spills the upper boulders in the sun;

   I’m not a great one for poetry, and yet this one has stayed with me from 50+ years ago. ;-)
