Just an old school Sunday morning paper comics section while eating cereal at the kitchen table kind of guy. Calvin & Hobbes, Garfield, Peanuts... and maybe Family Circus and Ziggy while I finish my last bowl of cereal. Modern favorite: Heathcliff.

The little detail of the notary seal is the icing on the cake here. The things I now appreciate in this comic that I didn’t as a kid….

My rule for “liking” comic strips on here is I automatically like it if it makes me smile, makes me laugh, or just mentally amuses me. I have “liked” every Calvin & Hobbes strip since I started reading on here. If it wasn’t already my favorite comic, it would now be my favorite comic.

Wow, is this a foreshadowing of adulthood, or what?

Thank you! I’m wondering the same thing. Admittedly, it’s been decades since I’ve read C&H regularly, but… that’s all I can think about. Calvin doesn’t bring Hobbes to school, so…. But then Hobbes always ambushes Calvin when he comes in the door….

Never go with the person who gives you the ultimatum of abandoning your pet for them.

One of the saddest Peanuts ever…?

I’m assuming they’d call it a biscuit, right? Silly Americans, biscuits are for Brits. (And sausage gravy in the South, but that’s another story.)

My hero teacher was a big fan of The Far Side, but… I know he also liked C&H. Thankfully, I was the younger of two brothers growing up, and my brother was a huge fan, so I got to read all of his copies. :)
